This June, I spent more than a week in Lyon, and not once did I feel like that was a mistake (even though I usually don’t stay in a place for longer than 3 or 4 days). Lyon’s charm completely caught me off guard. Its two rivers form a little island, the Basilique overlooks the city, and the Fontaine Bartholdi attracts countless visitors at the Place des Terreaux. Its hilly streets reminded me of Porto and Lisbon, with their steep climbs and stunning views, which gave me a sense of familiarity.
